Hoopoe Bird Call Whistle

“Houpoupoup hoopououp,” head lowered, beak pointed towards the ground. The Hoopoe’s song is very respectful, almost mystical. We can hear it from afar. Blow once in four counts. Your breath should be light, slightly fizzing. “Pop pop pop pop”. Repeat two to four times.

Usually, a frightened Hoopoe lets out a sort of low, timid “Rrhe chrre Khrrgek.”

But why should it be afraid?
