Good Good Good
1995 Replica T-Shirt – France
This T-shirt forms part of Good Good Good’s ‘Unsung Heroes’ Capsule Collection, which pays tribute to the Springboks’ 1995 Rugby World Cup victory. This T-shirt takes inspiration from the 1995 French team that the Springboks played against in the tournament’s semi-final. The match in Durban was almost cancelled due to the pitch being waterlogged, but hoards of stadium staff took to the field to sweep it dry so that the game could go on. This T-shirt pays tribute to those who swept and allowed the Springboks to go on and win. The other screen-printed artworks, all illustrated by Yay Abe, feature the number 4 (the number of French player Philippe Benetton, who was stopped from scoring the winning points on the try line in the last moments of the match by Francois Pienaar) on the back, Good Good Good RWC logo, and a French cock-inspired emblem.
