New-ish to the store is Cape Town sock brand MightyLongDog. Founded in 2021 by Eugene & Rene Labuschagne, the brand was named after their lengthy and very active sausage dog, Dash.
Knitted on a Japanese knitting machine using South African sourced yarns, the socks are hand tailored for right and left feet. Formerly Executive Food & Beverage Manager for Table Mountain, Eugene has been knitting since he was a young boy, while Rene has a long history of pattern making and fashion design, having worked for Woolworths suppliers for a large portion of her career.
We ran our 11 questions past the husband and wife duo to get a look into their lives in Cape Town and their extended world.
