1995 Strip-Stripe T-Shirt – France

This T-shirt forms part of Good Good Good’s ‘Unsung Heroes’ Capsule Collection, which pays tribute to the Springboks’ 1995 Rugby World Cup victory. Using Good Good Good’s Strip-Stripe technique, this T-shirt takes inspiration from the French 1995 rugby jersey colours. The T-shirt is made up with fabric which is cut down to strips and then sewn together two at a time, then ironed straight, before being added to the rest of the strips. Eventually, the sheet of Strip-Stripe fabric is large enough to cut the panels of the T-shirt from. This T-shirt also features the number 4 of 1995 French player Philippe Benetton, who was stopped from scoring the winning points in France’s semi-final battle by Springbok captain Francois Pienaar, embroidered on the left chest, designed by Yay Abe.
