Strip Stripe Pleated Shorts
The Strip-Stripe Drawstring Shorts form part of Good Good Good’s Strip-Stripe Capsule, the brand’s newest solution that they have developed to work with the offcuts produced from the regular T-shirt production runs at their 28-year-old heritage manufacturing facility in Woodstock, Cape Town. This patchwork short is made from 100% Southern African-sourced cotton single jersey strips, cut from offcuts and deadstock fabric from their factory floor.
The shorts have a soft feel and a flowy, draping shape, with the legs extending to just below the knee. They are finished with belt loops and a drawstring at the waistband, as well as a button and YKK-zip closure. The shorts also feature adjustable drawstrings at the hems of both legs which make the shape of the shorts customizable to the wearer.
The manufacturing process behind this pair of shorts is arduous. With meticulous attention to detail, offcuts are selected by hand and cut down to strips. Strips need to be sewn together two at a time, then ironed straight, before being added to the rest of the strips. Eventually, the sheet of Strip-Stripe fabric is large enough to cut the panels of the shorts from.
Each pair of Strip-Stripe Drawstring Shorts is completely unique. While the strips are set to fray, adding character.
