The Strip-Stripe Hoodie forms part of Good Good Good’s greater Strip-Stripe Capsule, the brand’s newest solution that they have developed to work with the offcuts produced from regular T-shirt and fleece production runs at their 30-year-old heritage manufacturing facility in Woodstock, Cape Town. This patchwork hoodie is made from 100% cotton French terry fleece strips, cut from offcuts and deadstock fabric from their factory floor.
The manufacturing process behind this hoodie is arduous. With meticulous attention to detail, offcuts are selected by hand and cut down to strips. Strips need to be sewn together two at a time, then ironed straight, before adding any more. Eventually, the sheet of Strip-Stripe fabric is large enough to cut the panels of the hoodie from. Each Strip-Stripe Hoodie is unique, and while the strips are set to fray, adding character as the hoodie is worn more, the garment is constructed to last and maintain its shape.
