In collaboration with Frankie Fenner Meat Merchants, this apron celebrates their treasured tradition of Frankie’s Friday Burgers. The apron features a graphic illustrated by Shaun Hill depicting a duck slicing a chunk of meat for a Friday Burger screen-printed onto the front of a 100% cotton black bull denim Good Good Good apron with three front pockets and over-the-shoulder cross straps.
Every Friday at noon, just a few blocks up from our factory in Woodstock, a cohort of carnivores come from far and near to gather in excitement after a tiresome week of work and welcome the weekend with a Frankie’s Friday Burger from Frankie Fenner Meat Merchants. Each week a totally unique burger is conceptualised to wow their cult audience, meticulously crafted with special ingredients, and each week, like clockwork, the masses queue to get a taste. On most Fridays, you can catch our team buzzing in the line with the rest.
It was only a matter of time before we joint forces with them, having collaborated with a long list of food companies that we love. For our collaboration with Frankie’s Burgers, not only did we produce this T-shirt, but we also got the opportunity to put our own spin on what Frankie’s do best. On the 12th of April 2024, the masses gathered and devoured a burger featuring a duck and chicken hoisin patty, cucumber and daikon pickle, Frankie Fenner’s house plum sauce, and charred leak mayo sandwiched in the middle of a Jason’s milk bun. If you weren’t there to taste it, you’ll unfortunately never get another chance. Perhaps, with this apron, you might be able to make something that comes close to the taste experience that we had on the day.
Each apron is made in our 28-year-old heritage manufacturing facility in Woodstock, Cape Town.
