Frances V.H Mohair is based in the small town of Price Albert in the Karoo, known and globally esteemed for the quality of mohair fibres produced by the indigenous angora goat. Frances van Hasselt has a deep affinity to mohair, having grown up on a family farm in the Karoo that owns one of the oldest mohair studs in the world. As an ode to her heritage, she became committed to producing a truly local product that highlights the unique and versatile qualities of mohair. When she has not been helping her studio team washing, spinning, and dyeing yarns before handmaking each of their products on a loom, Frances has travelled across the world to teach classes on natural fibres and small-scale sustainable making. We are proud to host products at Duck Duck Goose that possess such a powerful story and match the distinctiveness of the context where they originate from.
