For this instalment, we bothered Bree Street regular and jack of all trades Keith Virgo to give us 11 answers. For someone that one might consider a strong contender for the title of Cape Town’s Calmest Guy upon first meeting, Keith is an inimitable creative powerhouse, with multiple fingers deep in the pies of art, music, event management, and, of course, fashion. When he’s not pulling strings behind the scenes at Slow Cooked Sundays, taking a brush to canvas, DJing, or making his own music, Keith is hand-knitting bespoke hats and other garments for his brainchild Mi Thatha, stocked exclusively at 120 Bree Street. Made with a thick, plush yarn and a technique inherited from his grandmother, Mi’s pieces evoke not only bodily warmth, but a deep sense of emotional and spiritual comfort as well. The Snug Hat is quickly becoming a South African staple accessory and you can get your own one by shopping select colourways from Mi Thatha’s AW23 collection in-store at our Watershed location today.
